A Regency Romance Told Through Letters_e
A Regency Romance Told Through Letters — 1815–1816

it’s winter, new year 1815 in the January post-Christmas lull. Bath is cold, dark, but full of music and the reflected light of candles. In London the Hackney carriages rule the road and medical students are poring over texts and diagrams, learning about disease and death.

Meanwhile in Devon the hills slope down to the sea, swimming is an activity for the brave, and the south coast is just the place to live if you want fresh air, peace and a moment to breathe.

In the giddy heights of the Bath season will Hester find the romance she is looking for? As love emerges, who will have a happy ending and who will be left on the sidelines looking on

A Wartime Correspondence — Summer to Autumn, 1944

...and all across Britain, people are tired of the fear, the blackouts, the raids, and the restrictions. However, in myriad small ways, everyone is doing their bit – not only for the war effort, but for each other, seeking crumbs of support, joy and friendship wherever they can find it. Frank, Maggie, and Ruth are each carving their own survival story in the place they find themselves. From the smoke and rubble of London and the green hills of Wiltshire to the beaches of Normandy, their lives are forever intertwined.

As the bombs continue to fall, who will survive the fury of the war, and is it possible that love could blossom in the face of such impossibility?

"I bought these letters for my mother. She said her favorite part is me reading them to her. These letters have made both of us slow down, in a busy world, and spend time together."

Vicki Punch

Victoria Punch is a writer, researcher, translator, poet and voice coach. Deeply in love with language and the power it has to connect ideas and communities, she revels in the lost art of letter writing and diving into the historical delights of writing for Pillar Box Post.

When the sun shines Victoria will be at one of her local beaches making the most of the glorious South Hams coastline. On rainy days you’ll find her in her local café with a pastry, a hot drink, and an alarmingly large stack of books, panning for the gold that makes her characters come alive.

Jen Feroza

Jen Feroze lives by the sea in Essex and has worked with words her whole life. From primary school dreams of being the next Roald Dahl, to working as a children’s editor on titles including Horrible Histories and the launch of Lonely Planet’s children’s list, to falling head over heels for the world of poetry, she loves nothing more than painting pictures with language.

Never far from her trusty typewriter, Jen currently works as an event poet, writing on-the-spot custom poems at festivals, weddings and events. Her collection of cookbooks and notebooks is getting out of hand, and she loves cold water swimming, rooms lit by fairy lights, and a really good cheeseboard.
